Union

Situated on the banks of Catherine Creek and at the entrance to northeast Oregon's Grande Ronde Valley, Union is the gateway to both the Eagle Cap Wilderness and the Catherine Creek State Park.

Union offers some of the best recreational opportunities in Northeast Oregon. Be it hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, camping, backpacking, rodeos, or pari-mutuel horse racing, there’s something for everyone.

On top of serving as the gateway to several wilderness areas, Union is also comprised of many pastures, crops, and ranches as a result of its fertile soil.  This past year, Union celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show, and if you ask some of the longtime residents of the town, they’ll tell you that they’re "darn proud" to be an agricultural community.  In the spring, it’s not uncommon to see kids walking their lambs down the street, preparing for the annual Livestock Show.  The Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center, the oldest agricultural research center in the state of Oregon, is also located in Union.

Union
offers schools for kids in kindergarten through high school and has an excellent student to teacher ration.   The school athletics is also greatly supported by the community.

Known as a 19th Century Town with 21st Century awareness, the business environment is encouraging and progressive while in the downtown area works to keep its 19th Century roots.  Union is home to Buffalo Peak Golf Course, an 18-hole champion ship course where you can always get a tee time, as well as the historic Union Hotel, which has been recently updated with modern day conveniences while keeping the 1920’s architecture and feel.

Union Oregon is a delightful place to call home – just ask the 1,960 residents who do just that.
