Summerville

Located at the north end of the Grande Ronde Valley, Summerville was an important early commercial and trading center, serving as a stage stop for the George Thomas coach line.

In 1889, Summerville peaked as a town, boasting two flour mills, a bank, four merchandise stores, a drug store, a brewery, a butcher shop, three dressmaking shops, a hotel, one restaurant, two blacksmith shops, four sawmills, and three churches. Today the town is home to approximately 145 residents, complete with its own store/tavern & Post Office.

Although the size of the town has changed, the beautiful surrounding that the inhabitants enjoy remains the same with deer and other wildlife sightings as bountiful as the great views.  From Summerville, you´re just a hop and a skip away from the Mt. Emily mountain range as well as public access to the Umatilla National Forest.
