Imbler


The town of Imbler, known as the "Grass Seed Capital of the World", is located in Union County, Oregon and is one of a number of small, friendly communities nestled along the sides of the Grand Ronde Valley.   Although the exact history of this cozy town is not known, its estimated that the  first settlers put down roots somewhere around 1840. For a number of years, the town functioned as a trading post and was one of the important rest stops along the Oregon Trail - the post office in was established in 1866.


Situated in the Grande Ronde Valley, Imbler provides in a peaceful, pastoral, rural environment surrounded by the Blue Mountains, which provide access to many outdoor activities.  Be it biking, fishing, skiing, hiking, riding, camping or snowmobiling, residents and visitors can enjoy all the surrounding national forests and scenic lakes and rivers have to offer.


The top agricultural commodities in the area are timber (one of Imblers major industries), cattle, peppermint for oil, farm forest products, wheat and Kentucky Bluegrass.  This tiny town is also home to the privately owned market that makes world-famous pepperoni (sold either by the foot or by the yard) ? its true what they say, some of the best things come in small packages.
